Well like the curator of the Museum of Unfunny Comedians said to Daniel Tosh, “You’ve come to the right place!” No but seriously, there’s nothing funny about that man…

Anyway, I’m not going to clutter this article up any further with what you’ve come to love from my astounding wit (modest, right?) and I’ll just get on with giving you some tips on what you’re here to learn.

(Oh, and be sure to enter your name and email below for some juicy secrets on this new form of social marketing…)

1. Harvest Them From Your Existing Sources

To anyone that knows even the smallest microbial morsel about marketing, this should have been the first obvious thing to do. Namely, tell everyone on your Facebook, Twitter, newsletter, blog, carrier pigeon network, knitting group and anywhere else that you already have influence that you’re now on Google Plus. I shouldn’t have to explain to you why this is a good idea, but in short it’s a fast, free and easy way to begin your following on this site. And to be honest, I can’t really think of any reason why you wouldn’t do this immediately. So go on, go do it!

2. How To Get More Google Plus Followers With Blog Posts

The second way of how to get more followers on Google plus is again quite simple, but I guarantee will be overlooked by many. If you look above in this post, you’ll notice that we have embedded our email newsletter sign-up form. For us at uSocial, this is a great way to increase our subscriber-base while offering something extra to our readers. Using this principle, you can easily learn how to get more followers on Google Plus by embedding commands (a simple link that tells people to join your ‘circle’) either at the start, middle or end of your posts. This way you’ll harvest a lot more of a following just as an alien harvests farts from us unwilling humans.

3. Offer Incentives

A great way of getting more followers to your Google Plus account is by offering something as a gift, bonus or incentive to those people who are already in your circles. Us Internet-dwelling humans are like children sometimes and if we think we’re missing out on something because we’re not a part of something, we’ll want in big time. To take advantage of this, offer something along the lines of a free giveaway to those who are in your circles on Plus (no, your granny’s ‘vintage’ underwear won’t do) which will encourage others to be a part. Just make sure you’re broadcasting this through your other channels and you’ll be sure to boost your following.

4. Paid Advertising

Once you’ve exhausted all your other methods that you’ve learned in this article on how to get more followers on Google Plus, you can fall back on some traditional advertising like promoting your Plus account through things like Adsense within your niche. While I can guarantee this won’t pay dividends like the other stuff I’ve mentioned here, rest assured that if you’re out of options this will work. Of course, you will require some cash to throw around in order to go down this path so it won’t be feasible for everyone.

OK, so before we finish up here I’d like to mention that although Google’s new social site is definitely going to be a great promotional channel to add to your repertoire, the fact of the matter is that as yet it simply cannot compete with the likes of Facebook. So if you are using the ‘BIG FB’ for marketing (and you should be), be sure to check out some of our Facebook marketing services to help you get the edge in social media.

And that’s the end of this short but hopefully entertaining (and oh-so-informative) article on how to get more followers on Google Plus. Be sure to share it if you liked it, leave a comment below, or sign up to our newsletter below for some extra goodies!

Online marketers and entrepreneurs like me and you can sometimes be like a bunch of starving, wild dogs; ferociously seeking out the next big thing when it comes to making cash online or to help us promote our business. And like a vast sack of soggy bibles thrown from an airplane, the next big thing has landed in front of us with a meaty ‘thud’ in the form of Google+ (plus, for those of you not adept at symbology).

While the rules of marketing on this new and ever-so-tasty social site are quite similar to what you’d do on say, Twitter or Facebook, there are some things you should keep in mind. So like a drunken homeless exhibitionist in Central Park, I’m going to quickly reveal to you some tips on how to make money on Google+ Plus.

And before you leave, make sure you enter your name and email address below to receive some of the more in-depth secrets to this tactic.

1. Remember, this isn’t Facebook.

The first thing you should keep in mind when starting your marketing on Google’s new social site is that this definitely shouldn’t be regarded as your new FB profile. The fact of the matter is that whereas the ‘Big F’ is mainly for social interactions and the like, on Plus you’ll have your personal and business contacts together (albeit in different ‘circles’ if you want them) so care must be taken not to send updates about the amazing distance that your newborn daughter’s latest milky projectile vomit traveled.

2. Boost Your Follower Count

There’s little point using this tool for marketing if you’re not going to spend the time and/or effort increasing your followers. There are two main ways of really getting your numbers up faster than a junkies heart rate. Firstly, use all your existing promotional channels (FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc…) to tell people you’re now on Plus. Also, use company newsletters, your blog and anywhere else your customers are visiting to ensure you’re getting the exposure you deserve. Secondly (and if you want to save yourself a load of time) you can buy targeted Google+ followers which will be added to your account. Definitely worth a look if you have some money you can invest.

3. Quality, Quality, Quality

The fact of the matter is that while Facebook and others are filled with teens incessantly spewing things like “FML” and “I hate my parents…”, you have to realise that Google Plus is a more professional environment and the average user-age (some might say intelligence and maturity as well) is higher than on some of the other social sites. Because of this, a photo of a kitten with your company logo or URL on it may not be enough to keep your Plus followers entertained. The simple thing to remember is that your followers are not axe-wielding Viking warriors with one-track minds intent on rape, drinking and swearing. Don’t treat them as such as you should do OK.

4. Cross-Promote Like A Boss!

Making money on Google plus is easy if you can master this point. Let’s face it, the main reason you’re have an account here as well as every other social media site is so that you have another avenue of promotion, right? Well, don’t be shy about reposting everything you’ve listed on your FB, Twitter & YouTube pages, company newsletter, blog and/or website. The aim here is to smear your message as if it were a tasty chocolate-infused peanut butter as thoroughly over the thighs of the Interwebs as you can. Er, if that makes sense…

Finally, remember that if you really want to know how to make money on Google+ Plus, you just need a little practice and to spend a bit of time promoting your business, product or service on it. You’ll find it’s a lot like the social media marketing you’re used to, with a few small Googlie-wooglie changes.

As with anything ranging from milking a cow to washing your granny’s underwear, there is the right way and the wrong way to go about doing it — and of course, Twitter marketing is no different.

While promoting your business’ product or service can sometimes be a hassle, as with any kind of online marketing medium there are usually loads of free and paid tools which can help you go about your business and as you’d expect, there are literally thousands of products and services which can assist you in getting the name of your pogo stick company out there.

So, in this short but very sweet article, I’m going to be going over what I know to be the three most essential tools for Twitter marketing, what they’ll do for your business and in what capacity you should be using them.

1. uSocial Twitter Marketing Services

Face it; at some point you’re going to want to get more Twitter followers to your account in order to boost your potential customer base (or maybe just your ego…whatever) and in terms of getting loads of quality, targeted followers to your account, uSocial.net still reigns supreme above all others in this field. In case you didn’t know, uSocial were the first company in the world to sell followers to companies and in my humble opinion, still do the best job of it by far. As they say, you can’t beat experience. The benefits to buying followers with us are many, however the main points are that they can be delivered to whatever account you choose, you can select targeting in fields ranging from country, to interest and/or industry group, delivery is fast and you’re guaranteed to get real people and not faked or spam accounts. In short, I’m recommending this service because it works. Period.

2. Social Oomph

I used this service way back years ago pretty much when it was called Tweet Later and it still rocks now as it did then. In short it’s a fully automated tool which allows you to do everything from scheduling days or weeks of tweets at a time which will then be posted automatically, reading and responding to your @replies, adding and removing followers and just about everything else you can think of, including managing multiple accounts and shortening URLs. If you’re the kind of person who is finding yourself spending hours a day on monotonous micro-blogging tasks which give you a headache, I can guarantee this tool is for you.

3. Mass Unfollow Tool

At some point in time when embarking on your Twitter marketing journey, you’re going to need something which is going to allow you to unfollow loads of people on your list, or maybe just everyone at once. And if you think there’s a better way of doing things than just going through your 10,000+ followers and removing them all manually, then you’d be right. There are a few mass unfollow tools out there which should work a charm for you — though my all-time favorite was the now-defunct ‘Huitter’ — and you should check out Buzzom and Tweetelity to start, though there are loads more if you conduct a quick search on Google.

Happy now?

These three services should make Twitter marketing a breeze for you now in whatever aspect you were struggling at, from getting followers themselves, to managing your growing accounts. But as always, I definitely recommend you check out our tools and services as well to really shake things up for you.

Whether you’ve gained them by being mentioned in one of Kim Kardashian’s tweets, grew them naturally or bought them from us, if you’re on Twitter you will likely have some followers. No matter how many followers you might have, there’s probably one thing you may not have considered: how much those little digital connections are worth to you.

And no, I’m not talking about on a sentimental emotional level, I’m talking about how much they could be worth to you in cold hard simoleans. Why would you want to know this? Well, there are loads of people who will buy Twitter accounts which are proven to convert sales, or you may just want to know because you’re a pedantic, money-hungry accountant-type who needs to know how everything in your experience is worth.

Whatever the reason, in this post we’re going to take an in-depth look at how much your Twitter followers could be worth, and what that could mean to you.

But before we do, let’s look at the people on Twitter and how you probably fit in the grand scheme of things.

There are three main types of people on Twitter: Firstly, you have Celebrities looking to boost their egos in a war to become one of the most-followed people on the site. Secondly, you have an average human Internet-user who just uses the site to tell their close circle of friends when they’re taking a dump (I like to call these the ‘Normals’). And if you can’t fit into one of those categories, you’re simply using Twitter as a marketing medium to make money from.

And in case you haven’t yet figured out from the vast amount of spam and promotional messages floating around the site like a digital version of Rosie O’Donnell in a bath of chunky soup, marketers form probably the dominant category of people on the site. And if you’re reading this post on a marketing blog, you are either a ‘net-tard who accidentally found this site while looking for pornography, or you belong to this group as well.

As a marketer, you’ll know that a Twitter account is effectively like having a mailing list to connect with your clients and friends and there are various factors which will sway how profitable your list will be to you. For example, if your entire list was gained as a result of giving away a freebie, the people on it won’t be as likely to buy something from you as a list of people who are previous clients who have already bought your services.

It’s these variables which should be taken into account when estimating the value of your Twitter account and I’ve listed some of the most common below:

1. Acquisition

How did you gain your Twitter followers? If they were gained through natural traffic to your Twitter page by people interested in you and what you have to say, sent from your blog or website, or purchased from uSocial in targeted packages, then chances are they’ll be worth not only a little, but probably a good deal as these are all methods which are recommended when gaining followers. However, if you’ve used an automated script to gain followers, relied on follow-backs from randomly following others or simply gained them en masse by spamming Twitter, they’re likely worth about as much as a handful of used toilet paper.

2. Targeting

Are your followers simply any soul you could get so you enjoy the outcome of an inflated ego when you looked at your follower numbers? If that’s the case, then they’re probably not worth much to you. On the other hand, if your fans on Twitter are people who are genuinely interested in what you’re saying, the industry or interest group you’re in, or your geographic location, then they’ll be worth their weight in myrrh-coated saffron. And of course, to easily increase your targeted followers, you can always buy them in packages from 1,000 and up from us.

3. Relationship

If you gained the vast majority of your followers simply because you give out a free report if they follow you, then there’s a good chance most of them will avoid your tweets like a bacteria-laden carcass in the future. To really strike Twitter gold, the best followers come from those people who have done business with you before, regularly read your material or who you know personally. If you can even accrue a few hundred followers like this, you’ll perform many times better than people who have lists of five and six figures of people they have no business knowing.

4. Numbers

While a lot of people say the number of followers you have is the be-all and end-all, it’s not always the case. The three points I’ve mentioned until now are by far more important when considering the worth of your followers, but after you’ve tackled them to the best of your abilities, the number of followers you have does come into it. Just make sure you’re not riding the value of your followers on this alone because if you consider only numbers and not the overall quality of your followers, you may find yourself rather disappointed when it comes to promoting a product or service to them.

Take these points into consideration when attempting to decide how much your followers are each worth to you, though you can never truly know the value of your Twitter account and the people following you until you spend a good month marketing to them and letting the figures speak for themselves.

The best way of doing this is to send maybe 1-2 promotional messages to your followers every day for a month and tracking how many sales this results in. Divide the amount earned by your number of followers and you’ll have a figure which will be the average value of each follower on your list.

And if you’re any kind of marketer you’ll know that the figures always speak for themselves!

I don’t like doing things in the *normal* way, which I why I took up the offer when one of my colleagues told me I should write about why people shouldn’t buy Twitter followers with us. So, let’s shake things up a little and take a look at why you shouldn’t do this (even though there are a lot of reasons you should).

1. You’re A Celebrity

We can’t all be Britney Spears (Though after her many falls from grace, I doubt there are many people who would want to be her at the moment anyway) and thus, have an instantly-massive following on Twitter.

Let’s face it, there are millions of teenage suburban girls who like minute-by-minute updates as to when their favourite celebrities are clipping their fingernails, though the fact is that they don’t want the same updates from you. So unless you’re a massive celebrity like of the final ten Idol contestants(*choke*), a reality TV star or one of Tom Cruise’s supposedly-famous offspring, then you may need to take the plunge and invest in some Twitter followers.

Either that, or you can try and get famous in the same way the kids from Jersey Shore did and simply act like orange morons on TV for a few weeks and wait for the cash to roll in.

2. You Have No Idea What ‘A Twitter’ Is

You can almost hear it, can’t you? The cries of an elderly family-member something like; “Back in my day we didn’t need all this newfangled mumbo-jumbo. A nice comfy chair in front of the ol’ wireless was all the technology we needed!”

Look, Gran: times change. If things always stayed the same then we’d still all have slaves, would burn people who practiced homeopathic medicine as witches and we’d still be thinking that the sun revolved around the Earth. Would you prefer that? Or would you prefer trying to plug your kidney dialysis machine into a tree and finding out that in order to produce electricity, technology needs to advance.

Ahem…anyway, if you don’t know what Twitter is or have no intention of using it, then maybe you won’t need to buy followers.

3. You’re Just Using Twitter To Connect With Friends

If you don’t have what most people would call a real life and are a pasty-skinned, 37-year-old virgin who still lives in their parent’s basement and plays World Of Warcraft almost every waking minute, then this probably won’t be for you my friend.

Twitter was envisioned as a means simply to keep up to date with friends (or as a cash-cow eventually to be sold to Google…whichever way you want to look at it) and if that’s all that you use it for, you won’t need to take the plunge and invest in any paid-follower services like uSocial’s. That is, unless you’re a totally ego-driven sociopath who needs the whole world to know every time you’ve plucked a particularly-juicy nasal hair. In that case, then go ahead.

As we all know, Twitter is being heavily used by businesses these days to promote their services. But if you don’t fit into that category, then you should be happy tweeting to the nine followers you have which are mostly from the cat appreciation club you’re a member of.

4. You Are Promoting An Account Relating To Internet Marketing

Haven’t people figured this one out yet? It seems to me that every day about seventy-five thousand Twitter accounts are set up every day with the sole purpose of promoting IM products, mostly on Clickbank.

Pardon my colourful language, but for fuck’s sake, trying to make a buck selling products in probably the most saturated niche on the planet — especially as the first product you’re promoting — is utterly stupid in my own humble opinion. There are literally millions of people trying to do the same thing and if you wanna fight over the scraps with them like a pack of rabid dogs with a sheep carcass, then go ahead. But don’t mind me when I say you’re are likely going to fail miserably.

If it’s your intention to buy targeted Twitter followers with the intention of promoting something to them then that’s fine, just do some research and choose a niche that not many people are trying to fill at the time. It may take you a few days to find even one niche worth filling, however that time is well worth spent on that then doing something which won’t pay you at all.

So if you’re still thinking about promoting IM products on Twitter after what I’ve said here, please lean closer towards the screen so I can slap you.

5. You’re Intent On Spamming Twitter

If you’ve spent any kind of time on Twitter, you’ll know that the site is literally filled with spam. While I have to admit that the site has come forward in leaps and bounds when it comes to combating spam since it started, the simple fact is that they won’t ever be able to stop it in its entirety.

And just like my point above, spamming Twitter in the attempt to make money is about as silly as promoting IM products and unless you have some serious scripting, hardware and software skills to really spam the hell out of Twitter on an immense scale — as well as a large and abundant bankroll of cash behind you — you won’t ever succeed at doing it properly and profiting. If your intention is to buy followers and then simply spam the hell out of them with some crappy product, you’re better off saving your money.

Better still, take the cash and go and buy a bucket of KFC original recipe. You’ll feel just as dirty after you eat it all, but at least you’ve done something to nourish yourself. Spamming won’t achieve the same result.

6. You Don’t Answer Your Follower’s Messages

If you get an @reply from someone on Twitter, you should reply to them. If you think that Twitter Marketing is going to work if you’re going to shun those who have taken the time to follow and message you, then you’ll surely be a bigger failure than when Australia’s Big Brother tried to revive ratings by putting Jackie-O and Kyle Sandilands on as hosts.

Social media is just that: social. People aren’t going to buy anything you’re trying to sell if you do nothing but promote, promote, promote and ignore genuine questions, inquiries and comments from your followers. That is, unless you’re a celebrity and ignore all your fans by default.

If you’re not going to be social, then there is no point spending your hard-earned and buy followers on Twitter.

7. You’re A Silly-Head.

If you don’t fit into any of the previous categories and are actually a business, organisation, or some other operation who is looking to capitalise on the Twitter-boom and use this somewhat-pointless site for marketing and you don’t buy Twitter followers, then you sir (or madam) are a bit of a fool.

The fact is there is no faster way of getting quality and targeted followers to your account than by purchasing them. If you truly want to profit fast and get ahead of your competition by sending tweet after tweet to those who have actually opted-in to following you, you should take out your credit card and and fork out a few wing-wangs on followers. Otherwise, you may be waiting for months, or even years, to get a large number of followers naturally.

Simple, right?

Facebook’s engineers today revealed that FbChat is now serving over one billion messages per day. While that may not sound so phenomenal considering how many more the other big guns serve, though you should begin to take notice when you consider that the system is less than a year old.

So, will it ever take over from the likes of AOL Messenger? Probably not, but it’s still a massive leap for something that’s been around for such a short amount of time.

*** The following is a press release distributed by us online and to various media organisations. ***

As more and more people pile onto the Twitter bandwagon each and every day, the site is experiencing a massive growth in not only those using the site to keep in touch with friends and family, but those who want to use the site expressly for marketing purposes.

It’s a common sight these days for anyone with a Twitter account to be bombarded with links to affiliate products, services or whatever else. And while there are a select handful of people on the site marketing the right way, it seems that for the most part, spammers are having a field day on the site.

But according to web traffic company uSocial.net, there is money to be made on Twitter whether someone is spamming or not.

“There are new scripts being created almost on a daily basis to simply allow people to follow thousands of people at a time,” said uSocial CEO Leon Hill. “In many cases we’ve seen brand new accounts grow to over 1,500 followers in a day. While they generally get suspended in a very short time, in the time they’re active they market like crazy to their followers.”

uSocial say that people are using these tactics repeatedly in order to conduct spam-marketing campaigns and in some cases can attain tens of thousands of followers in a day over several accounts.

And they say that despite Twitter’s best efforts to contain it, things are not slowing down.

“Twitter has software in place which detects strange activity and suspends accounts based on this,” said Hill. “While it’s excellent for weeding out spammers, it can sometimes take days for the software to pick it up so these spammers usually have free reign for a while on each account.”

“Most of them have several accounts running simultaneously and as soon as one is shut down they simply open another and repeat. In the great scheme of things, Twitter really isn’t stopping anything at the moment.”

But uSocial say there is a light at the end of the tunnel in that most people are savvy not to take notice of spam accounts that send out hundreds of URL tweets in the space of minutes.

“Most people just ignore it so a lot of it isn’t doing much harm apart from the annoyance of having this stuff come up on your screen for a few days until the account is closed.” Continued Hill.

And speaking of marketing on Twitter, uSocial recently launched a new set of services based around the site which include the ability for users to buy followers. But what is the company’s stance on that? Should this be considered spam?

“Many people have suggested that buying Twitter followers is spam, however we simply manage other’s accounts in order to get them the greatest amount of followers possible in a short amount of time,” said Hill. “We have no control of the content someone places on their account so if they decide to use it for spamming, it’s their choice.”

“Though if they do, it’s almost a certainty their account will be closed by Twitter’s bots quite quickly.” Finished Hill.

The new services were launched around two weeks ago and can be found by going to http://usocial.net/twitter_marketing or for more information the company can be contacted via the form on their website.

But it seems as far as the Twitter spammers are concerned that uSocial have spoken about, most people believe they won’t be going away any time soon.

Controversial web traffic company uSocial.net have just launched what they claim is the world’s first truly unlimited press release distribution service, which has just become available for individual business and advertising agencies alike.

While not the first company to offer unlimited press release distribution, uSocial say their service is different in the way that they do not simply just post press releases to an online media wire.

“We’ve invested a considerable amount of resources gathering one of the most complete media contact lists in the world which now has over 560,000 media contacts from around the globe,” says uSocial CEO Leon Hill.

“When our clients invest in our powerful new service, we will distribute their releases to this list on their behalf, not simply just post their release online in the hope that sites like Google News might pick it up. We send press release to the places that matter; that is, direct to the inboxes of hundreds of thousands of journalists.” Hill continues.

The new service is available now from uSocial.net’s website and is priced from under one-hundred dollars per month and includes distribution for an unlimited number of press releases per month.

uSocial are famous for causing controversy over being the first company to heavily market the fact they sell votes on social bookmarking sites like Digg and Yahoo! Buzz.
